Studies for the Learning Society is the official journal of the Baltic Region Association for Research in Adult Education (BARAE). Studies for the Learning Society aims to publish articles on general and problematic issues of adult education, education for adults and adult learning in Baltic Sea region. Studies for the Learning Society focuses on current tendencies and problematic issues, research, policies, strategy and innovations in adult learning and education and continuing professional education. The journal serves as an international forum for stimulating research and discussion among researchers and educators who seek to challenge existing boundaries in the field.

Studies for the Learning Society is published since 2008 once per two years by Baltic Region Association for Research in Adult Education (BARAE). This journal is subject to a peer-review process.

Studies for the Learning Society is an open access journal providing scientific research which is publicly available to all on the internet, free of charge and without restriction. Open Access allows anybody to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, and cite full versions of texts without financial or technical barriers, and furthermore to use such texts in any other conceivable legal manner.
