THE BALTIC REGION ASSOCIATION FOR RESEARCH IN ADULT EDUCATION
BARAE was established on 8 April, 2005, as an international, non-profit, non-governmental organization, which would unite all the people who work in the sector of Adult Education and Learning in all the countries around the Baltic Sea and beyond.
The overarching aims of the Association:

to initiate research in the fields of Adult Education and Life-long Learning;

present results of this research to the wider community and society of the Baltic region

and beyond;

to organize the publication of these results to further the promotion of discussions.
BARAE also aims to encourage co-operation between various institutions.
Consequently BARAE welcomes new contacts and new ideas.
The Association was established by representatives of six universities

Tallinn University (Estonia),

University of Latvia (Latvia),

Vytautas Magnus University (Lithuania),

Danish University of Education (Denmark),

Surrey University (UK),

Copernicus University (Poland).
